It is the Company’s policy to ensure that all employees receive regular health and safety training.
The training regime is centred around regular ‘tool box talks’ (tbt’s) to be undertaken by supervisor.
In addition to site based training, each employee will be given a job safety induction including:
Use of the correct PPE Basic first aid procedures Erection and dismantling of scaffold towers Use of air tools and compressors Use of electrical hand tools including breakers, saws and grinders Use of mixers Mounting and dismounting of blades on 4” and 9” 110v angle grinders
A site induction for each new site location will also be given at the contract start. The supervisor will be issued with method statements and risk assessments for each section of the works.
Where relevant, managers and operatives will be given approved outside training. This has included the following:
CITB CDM Regs for Small Contractors Water Company Confined Spaces CITB Abrasive Wheels CITB Skid Steer Plant First Aider Emergency Aid in the Workplace for Appointed Persons All relevant LUL qualifications including fire, track and depot competence and SPIC. British rail qualifications from PTS.
Additional relevant training is given on a contract by contract basis.
